I think emotional positivity and optimism combined with practical pragmatism is generally the way to go. This reminds me of a scene in my favorite movie ever (Everything Everywhere All At Once) in which the main character's husband in an alternate reality talks about his perspective on life:

> When I choose to see the good side of things, I'm not being naive. It is strategic and necessary. It's how I learned to survive through everything. I know you see yourself as a fighter. Well, I see myself as one too. This is how I fight.

That movie got overexposed so people stopped admitting that it was genuinely very good! A belief that there’s good reason to keep going is essential, and will help you tough through a lot more than just about any other attitude, imo

People stopped admitting that it was good because other people thought it was good?? What a sad approach to liking things. It's not the best movie I've ever seen, but it is my favorite (mostly because I related super hard and it made me cry harder than any other movie I've ever seen.)

Very good advice that I'm just trying to put into practice in my own life.
